Well it looks like Nintendo underestimated the strength of their consumers by supplying a weak strap. Click the link below to see how to obtain a new, reinforced strap for safer game play.

Compare the photo below to see if you have a Wii Strap that requires replacement. If it looks like the "original version" shown in the photo, then you should get a replacement.

me and my friends were drinking and played for like 3 hours yesterday and never once even came close to losing control of the remote... how the fuck are people destroying things with theirs?

for the same reason i wouldnt aciidentally rip two 20 dollar bills, i wouldnt turn my wiimote into a projectile.

actually, you could still redeem the value of the money by sending proof to the us mint that the bills have been destroyed along with the serial #'s

I got my replacement straps in the mail today. It seems that a different strap is now being used than the one in the pic at the beginning of this thread. My strap is no thicker than the original, but it has been revised so the piece that holds the strap tight will not fall down every time you swing your "tennis raquet". I have included a pic showing what I got.

one is 3rd party in that pic

and if in the off chance it isn't, that is probably a newer controller as they are being shipped with better staps now
