« on: December 08, 2006, 07:15:00 PM »

has anyone run into a problem where they put an SD Card with or without data on it into the wii
go to the photo channel (with data/pictures)
or the memory manager (without data)

and get the error This SD Card Cannot be used?

supposed to be able to use any SD card...

I use a 64mb SanDisk card, formatted to FAT32.  No problems at all.

Try different file systems on the card. Fat32, NTFS, ReiserFS, ext2/3, anything to see if it works. BTW, im using a no name microsd card with and adapter, and it works fine.

Ok, story..Kinda OT..kinda.

I purchased a 2gb SD card for my mother's camera..and when I put it in there..it gave me all this error crap, not compatible..etc. So, I was sitting there..ub3r puzzled. I threw it in my laptop, and formatted with FAT and FAT32..That didn't help. Then I tried formatting it through the camera itself, didn't work. I made sure that the camera supported 2gb SD cards..It did..So, I basically forgot about it and left it to my mom..lol. Eventually, my mother took it back to BestBuy and the people there said "The card is too fast for your camera". I honestly had no idea that speed incompatibilities existed..so I basically learned something that day (assuming they were telling the truth).

In conclusion, perhaps your (generally speaking) cards are TOO fast for the Wii!?!? I'd highly doubt that...But, apparently it's a possibility. Perhaps, they're too slow? Ehh, idk.

Good Luck.

I had a 4 gig that wouldn't work in the Wii, my laptop, or my other two desltops, but it would work with my desktop at work. I'm pretty sure, the Wii has a 2gb limit anyway, but whatever....

I now use a 2gb....
