My Wii won't power on. Tried the basic trouble shooting, no go. I was thinking of some possible alternatives....like the Gamecube Power Adapter. Here are the specs of the Gamecube adapter:
Gamecube
CLASS 2
12v
46W
3.25A

Wii
CLASS 2
12v
53W
3.7A
Now, they connector form factor is obviously different, but I could cut the gamecube form down, and keep track of the possitive and negative and connect it to the Wii's port. But would it work...or would it just fry my gamecube adapter or somehow damage the Wii? What other alternatives could I try? I'm kinda techy so any suggestions would be appreciated. Ok, so I bought a Wii, and started hooking it up today. I didn't have much time messing with it, but I was getting very excited moving the cursor around the screen entering my Wii name and configuring my wireless network. I know it soudns funny, but I seriously think Nintendo has changed the way future consoles controls will be made!
Anyway, I'm all excited with the performance of this remote when all of a sudden my lights flicker, my TV screen flashes, and my Wii goes off. The standby light is off completely. I followed the basic troubleshooting guides from the manual, and support online to no avail. I then called Nintendo and could not get through because of "high call volume". Retried an hour later and finally got through. To cut a long story short, they're sending me out a new AC adapter. I did however check the status of my order on nintendo, and it says the item is backordered. I was originally told 2 days, then 3-4. If it was 4 days, that'd be thanks giving, so 5 days makes friday, but I work retail so I'll have a 12 hour shift. 6 days...saturday... UGH. Why did I stand in line so long! I still want my wii wii super bad tho. ;p
