I just left the Best buy here in Toronto at the Dufferine and Wilson location, and as the store closed.. I hung around for a few minute.. spoke tot he manager.. and walked out with him as they put a sign up..

"94 units available.. store opens 6am.."

Lineup outside had officially started.. 1 guy had just sat down.. and was unpacking his bag which included a portable DVD player.. cd's, and a game boy of some sort. It's 3 degrees as I write this.. with a soft wind.. he should do okay as long as he's planned his night well.

My Target is gettin 69 units. I plan to go there after SNL, so 6 hours early. It doesn't seem like the demand on launch day will be as bad as the 360 or PS3, so hopefully I'll be OK.

I would say you'd be fine. At about 7pm this evening, there were only about 30 people lined up outside my local WalMart for the midnight launch.

my target got 39 and its supposed to be 34 degrees here in michigan.

im going to go at about 3 and see how the line looks, if its under 30 ill wait around, otherwise ill have to figure something else out.

got a 10% off coupon for target, so im aiming to get it there and save 30 bucks with the wii and zelda.

78 at over here at my store, I've never been in the whole console craze thing so it's sort of weird. Our store opens at 8, so I'll probably get up around 4 and head down there. I'm not too insane over getting one, but I figure there won't be many people there around that time. So far there are two people camping out, I don't think there will be much of a demand except for the hardcore Nintendo heads, but I could be wrong. Sadly enough I think I might try the EBay thing out (selling), even though I have a really bad feeling that I won't suceed, but only time will tell.

I'd forget about the ebay thing. Once eveyone finds out how available they are, I doubt you could make enough to justify your listing, closing and possibly paypal fees, not to mention your time. Just look at the PS3. I saw a 60GB version go for a few dollars over $800 today. The price is already diminishing...

EDIT: My Target had 90 Lucky for me I have a preorder so no camping...

if they are aiming for 4 million units shipped, and hit that mark easily, any kid who wants one will get one without a problem.

i think a lot of the lines for the wii, are pissed off sony fans who couldnt score a ps3.

got number 22 at target, after waiting from about 4:30am.

at 7am, they came out and handed vouchers:






im stoked... zelda and red steel. if you buy 3 games, you get a $20 gift card


cool stuff... im going to bed as soon as i get home and getting up at probably... 2 or 3pm to play it alllllll dayyy lonnng!

in about 15 minutes im going back, you have to get in line, in order of the ticketr you get...

That's why I bought two, just incase that EBay thing didn't work out too well. I stood in line for 5 hours, got my Wii's, but they ran out of controllers. :\

Yay, I have a Wii! I got there at 2:30, store opened at 8. I was #41 out of 69. But get this.. at 7 when they handed out the tickets.. THEY HAD EXTRA TICKETS! Oh well, I'm excited, I've got my Wii, now I just need to sleep, then play some sports, then open it up.

Congrats on the Wii's guys. I got one for the girlfriend, but I won't get to play it until Christmas....some jazz about giving her a gift that I've used for a month wouldn't play out too well...
