Xbmc On A 2 Gb Cf-card With Cf-to-ide Adapter
« on: October 14, 2007, 01:36:00 PM »

I bought a Adapter+fast Compact Flash Card for 25 €.

Now i want to use XBMC as Dashboard on this CF Card. Some people said, that this won't be possible because of the xbox partitiontable (3*750 mb + x).

What would u guys say? possible or not?

And if its possible: how?

greets

I would think you can use a CF card in place of the hard drive, but you would need a minimum of an 8gb card with the Xbox partition table. As long as the C: and E: drives are there, I don't see any problem with the idea.

This would probably not work unless you have a TSOP flash or mod chip that allows unlocked drives, I doubt the CF card will lock.

this has been tried before, it does not work because it can't be assigned master, even with chip it isnt recognized as a bootable drive.

I seen somethin on those drives but not much yet. In theory, it should work as long as the ONLY diff between hd and ssd is no moving parts.
