Just found out the the hardware specs of the WII here:
http://www.maxconsol...ews&newsid=8802Figures out why it is 'backward compatible' with gamecube because it uses a similiar CPU/GPU but is clocked higher than the gamecube. So there wouldn't be such a learning curve if a developer wants to make a wii game instead of gamecube one.
I suppose there will be a an initial wow-factor but hardware-wise will be inferior to ps2 or the xbox 360. However, Nintendo does make very innovative games and you don't need the horsepower to do it. So Nintendo's success will depend on how much consoles they can sell and how many good titles they can develop.
