I agree wii is kinda wack, BUT look at the current names of consoles they arnt much better we are just used to hearing them by now is all. I mean come on the xbox? Playstation 2 (they couldnt even think of a better name so they used 2). I mean shit fellas the xbox shoulda been called the xbrick. Wii isnt so bad. It sounds terrible but thats part of NAME RECOGNITION. Not biased as I love my box but still not as bad as everyone says. I for one will enjoy using it as an innuendo

I guess WII should stop joking about it, but how can WII help it?

I would buy a Revolution if they made a broadband online network and supported HD but since they apparantly aren't, the chances of me buying the next Nintendo machine -- I guess it's WII -- is next to none. Sure the name is symbolic of the controllers and universal and easy to remember, but come on, Nintendo -- you know better than to rename it that. The name "Revolution" actually isn't bad, anyway, although it does have common properties attatched to it when you think of the "360" in the name "Xbox 360."

Oh well. WII will wait and see. I hope they change their minds.

Sorry guy, you're not the first one to bring up this point.
You can't just sweep this move under the rug and simply call it another console with a bad name.
Two wrongs don't make a right.
Yes the Playstation is a bad name, and even worse the Dreamcast (not to mention Xbox 360)
but "Wii" goes beyond a bad name for a console.
It almost seems deliberate (even the Nintendo fan boys are hurting).

I feel sorry for Nintendo, I really do.
I can defend the controller but I can't defend the Wii name.
It's a damn shame too because I feel way too many people are going to be turned off by the name itself.
I understand that games ultimately sell the system but Nintendo has just dug themselves deeper into the whole they've been trying to crawl out of.
I now seriously question the actions of their company president

I understand I'm not the first to mention that those system names are terrible. I brought it up just as a reminder that there were other 'bad' system names, even currently. A name just seems like a lot to get worked up over.

I see your points, and I agree with you. Because of something as simple as a name, some people will refuse to purchase the system. I think that after E3 we'll have a better understanding about all of this. But then again, maybe not.

i quit trying to read this. every time i press the next page 2 more pages pop up. it really doesnt matter what they call it. i dont think it will do to well. i am not trying to bash them but i think they should have ms buy them out. i hope this is some kind of joke. Wii come one i dont need to say anything so many people have. how can any one expect them to market them selfs other then kids with a name like that.

Revolution was MUCH better. This must be catering towards the Japanese as the US opinion seems overwhelmingly negative on this one.
