If I buy a brand new psp from the store can i put 3.40 oe-a on it??? Can every psp be modded? Or should i be looking for a certain manufacture date or something?

From what ive read i have gathered that all psp models currently can be modded to 3.40 oe-a if i have that luminous game or whatever it is called, is this correct?

I am a pretty skilled veteran at modding xbox1 and 360's, so i dont think i should have a problem modding it myself. I have browsed through some guides and learned what i could. If anyone could give me some advice or the best tutorial for a newb with a brand new psp that would be alot of help.

Currently every psp can be downgraded to 1.5 from any firmware up to 3.5. Once you downgrade to 1.5 you then can upgrade to 3.40 OE-A

Do some research on google, I think it can via lumminies I would buy a secondhand one, then at least you know what firmware it is.

I highly doubt any of the new psp's come with the 3.51 firmware yet. You should just go to the store and get a new one, and if it happens to be 3.51 just take it back and buy one from somewhere else

I have a psp 1.0 that I will be puting up on ebay in a couple of days. The starting bid? $750.00... Better than a 1.5 which is slow and requires 2 memory sticks and extra programs. psp 1.0 is the original system meant to run unsigned code. 1.5 is modded to process the code unwillingly. psp-1000, not any other letters or numbers are attached to that code, its a nice thought.
