update..oops its not a 20gb drive its a 6.4gb drive...could that be my problem? i dont have another one to try right now

Without a Linux-only BIOS installed in your system, you'll need at least an 8gb drive (and even then I'm not sure a 6.4gb drive would work!).

And for the record, you need an illegal bios (not cromwell) to boot slayers for example.
