Philips Drive Doesn't Recognize In Xbox 1.0 Version

I put an philips dvd in an older xbox 1.0 and it won't bootup.I though I can swap drives with out a problem.
I did in hte past with a 1.4.Is it because its an 1.0 and what can I do to make it detect it????

Yes you can do it without the modchip. Just unplug the old drive and put in a new one and you are ready to go!!!


are you sure the DVD drive is the problem? have the cables properly seated?
