Xbox Controller, Winxp, Google Earth Flight Sim
« on: September 16, 2007, 03:02:00 PM »

I have the newest Google Earth, which as many of you know, includes a flight simulator.  It has "joystick compatibility," so I figured I'd use my xbox controller.

I have made an xbox to USB adapter, and have successfully played Halo1 for PC using the adapter and XBCD driver software.

How can I set up the controller for Google Earth?  I checked "Joystick Enabled," but the sticks don't control the plane, and the buttons have no effect either.

In the XBCD software, I have tried using "gamepad" and "joystick" identifications, neither working.

I know this isn't exactly an xbox-related question, but it DOES deal with the controller. biggrin.gif

gosh, INSB_GLOCK, why so rude?
As I mentioned in the last line, I realize that my question isn't dealing exactly with the xbox, but it DOES deal with the controller.

Anyway, I'm not asking for advice on MODDING Windows, nor modding any Windows software.  Google Earth COMES with joystick compatibility, and so I thought maybe those of you who had played with it might know how to get your xbox controller to work with the software.

If this is entirely the wrong forum for the question, then I am sorry.  But you really don't have to be so rude, INSB_GLOCK.

i doubt you will get an answer here, simply because no one would know
maybe try in some google forum. the xbcd software emulates a joystick, so you would imagine that it should just work
