Hdd On Psp
« on: January 03, 2007, 06:11:00 AM »

Hello,
I know very little about the psp but my brother got one and he wants a hard drvie for it. The best thing i could find is a 4GB external hdd that clips on the back of the psp. I was wondering if there is a way to put a larger hdd on a psp? I'm assuming that it doesn't support mass media storage so nothing over 4GB would work anyway. But it can't hurt to ask right?

Thanks!

As far as i know that is the only hard drive option.  To be honest, if there was an option for adding a hard drive, i wouldnt do it because who wants to lug around a hard drive while you play?  Just grab a 2-4 gig memory stick and you should be set smile.gif

All firmwares upto 2.8 support upto 4GB, firmwares above that support 8GB.

If i were you, or your brother, i would NOT buy the HDD, there are LOTS of compatibility problems.(Especialy if you are running ISO's or Videos.) And its like cliping a tank onto your PSP.
The PSP cant access hard drives pluged into the USB port either, so thats a dead end.

Buy a 4GB memory stick, its what i did, i dunno what i did before i had it.

Yep, 4GB is perfect. Fast speed, no compatibility issues with homebrew and lots of movie space.
