On the stock black faceplate if you look at the edges you can see where the black ends the very edge is see-thru. It kinda looks like they made the faceplate clear and then painted the inside. Anyone know how this was done?

I do, and most likly they just use black plastic and then put a clear plastic over it.

I took off my faceplate recently and I think I know how they made them look like they do:
They made a black plastic faceplate and then a slightly larger clear plastic one and glued them together,
at least that what I think

If they glued them together you would see the glue since the clear layer would be on top. Every PSP having a perfectly glued casing just doesn't seem possible. Its black plastic with some sort of coating over it or specially treated.

It kinda reminds me of some wood tables in fancy resturaunts, they have a hard clear coating over the top so you cant scratch the wood.
