2.0 Eboot Loader, Umd Emulator, And Gta
« on: November 03, 2005, 04:27:00 PM »

i just realized that gta came out for psp, and then i saw the post below me that was talking about gta not working with 1.5, so i have a few questions

1. can umd emulator be played on the 2.0 eboot loader yet?

2. is there any kind of "fix" for the game? version changers don't work i hear?

3. is this being worked on, so that this game can be played on a 1.5 psp or is no one really working on it?

4. how long until the 2.0 eboot loader can play programs in kernal mode?

Thanks!

As long as a piece of string..................................

btw, the problem with GTA, both the eboot and prx’s are encoded in v2.00 method, and can't be decoded by the 1.5 firmware, its videos are also encoded in AVC codec (which the 1.5 lacks). Looks like it would need to be recompiled from source to fix this, but who knows, it might be patched, but its going to be a hard job.

UMD emulator has to work in kernel mode, and the eboot loader would have to work in kernel mode to load other things (the UMD emulator) that require kernel mode, it so far can't access the kernel directly on the 2.00 firmware because its to secure.

It is been worked on, but it will take awhile, maybe another exploit will be found.

Sony has a good method now to make us upgrade, all they have to do is release a new upgrade, say 2.75 (with new encryption) and encrypt all there newer games (eboots and prx's)  with that encryption, older firmware cant decrypt it, therefore you have to upgrade to/or crack the higher version firmware and run directly on that.
