ive done the "swapsploit" once or twice, but i dont think ill do it agian. swapping the memory sticks can really screw them up, and im sorry, but i spent 80 bucks on my 512, i am not losing it.

so what's the deal, what's the worst damage this can do to the memory card, just a reformat right? because that's what i was thinking also..it can't really screw it up entirely can it???

and also, is there anything to play the dumped umds yet?

This isn't related to swaploit, but I managed to hose a 1 gig mem stick when windows explorer froze during a usb transfer.  The psp didn't even recognize the mem stick afterwards.  But i've done swaploit many times like other ppl on here and have had no problems.  I've read about ppl here and there botching mem sticks, so just know that while most ppl are successful, there are those few who arent so lucky.

But they can always just format the MS.  I have yet to hear of anyone that has broken their MS, and I don't think it's possible, aside from sitting on the thing.

Well when I took it back to Fry's, they put it in a pc reader and it wouldn't even show up... so I royally hosed the mem stick... at least I got a new one.

that is really weird, i was talking to someone else and they said it should be fine, the most it could do is corrupt the data, but not physically brake it..so you did something weird lol

but anyway, umd reader in the works, can someone give me an estimate as to how far they are with it? did the project just begin or are they almost there?
