Dvd Drive Stopped Playing Games
« on: August 07, 2007, 09:46:00 PM »

I was playing Halo 2 and right in the middle of campaign mode I got an error that said I had a scratched or dirty disc. So, I took it out, washed it off, and put it back in the drive. I pushed the play button on XBMC, the screen went black, and it loaded XBMC again. I went under file manager and clicked on the default.xbe for Halo 2 myself, but the same thing happened. I tried starting the game using UnleashX, same thing. It does the same thing for any game I put in it, and these are the original game discs, not backups. I put a Movie in the drive and it played it without any problems. Can I fix this, or am I going to end up switching to one of those nice Samsung drives after all. Any help is appreciated.

Nevermind, I fixed it with the pot fix, but I HATE irony. In the process, I BROKE the motor that opens the tray and lowers and raises the laser assembly (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grr.gif) . So until I replace the motor ( If I can replace the motor), I'm stuck playing games with the top of my Xbox open.

You could always cut the part above your dvd drive  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Or manually eject the drive using a paperclip
