I've been using a 40gb hdd in my xbox for a good while now, and have been using the 8gb original as a linux drive first, and then as an external drive for my mac (so it was formatted in a mac partition). recently i have tried to reclaim my 40gb hdd since i only use my xbox to watch dvds and play the occasional game, but my xbox keeps giving me error 9 with the original drive connected.
this original drive works under both my pc and my mac, and will format and be used without errors. ive even tried wiping it with zeros. it simply wont let my xbox boot. i cant even get to the bios screen of my modchip. however, with the 40gb drive connected, everything boots up fine. the xbox works perfectly.
what am i missing here? and whats wrong?
im trying to boot up with a self made evox dvd, and ive proven the same very disk to work with the 40gb drive (just checked now). i just keep getting error 9 with the original. im thinking it must be something that got screwed up while using it as a pc drive? ive never had this trouble when putting in a pc formatted drive and then formatting it through an evox boot disk via ftp.
please, somebody, help me!
