Counter Strike Source is not a high-end game. And, yes an nVidia 6 Series GPU is more than strong enough to run it and a majority of todays games. It is DirectX 9 compatible. DirectX10 is out now, but you won't need DX10 compatible cards for a long time to come.

Just make sure you get a good amount of RAM (say 1Gb), and allocate as much as you can to video.

CounterStrike Source needs at least 32MB of Video RAM
