Cpu Load = Shut Down
« on: May 27, 2007, 09:44:00 PM »

make sure that your sending enough voltage to the cpu.  I have my computer overclocked 500mhz and it would run fine but whenever i did something cpu intensive, such as encoding a dvd or video file my computer would just freeze or shutdown.  So i went into the bios and just bumped up the core voltage to the cpu just a step or two and it has been running like a champ.  I have encoded for 24 hours straight on my dualcore with both cores under full load no problem.  Also make sure that your cpu is not getting to hot.  It may be the motherboards fail safe that is sensing that the cpu is getting way to hot and it automatically shuts down to prevent permanent damage to your cpu.

It may not overheat but its draining the life of the cpu. You could buy a 3rd party fan. Much more cooler and quieter than the stock.

Heh, 99% it's not unless you run it at 3v lol wink.gif

Sounds like your cpu could be possibly getting to hot and shutting itself down for protection. what are the temps on your cpu ?
