Indexing On Drives
« on: February 14, 2007, 06:34:00 AM »

I have heard that disabling indexing on all drives is the way to go. My question is what exactly is the benefit to  disabling it?

Indexing is used to speed up searching. If you never use search, like me, disable indexing because it is never used, and it takes up resources.

If you do search, use a different program than the one that comes with windows. It sucks anyways.

There are a few free ones out there that are much more powerful.
