Ftp Program

Ok. My xbox's first upgraded HDD died. I replaced it and everythings good now.

The dead HDD isn't all dead. It just run really slow. Evox takes like 5 minutes to load.

What I did was I used a boot disc (dvd2xbox) to allow FTP access, and transfered some of my games saves and my eeprom.bin and such. That went ok. I installed my new HDD and my xbox is ok now.

Using my old HDD, when I FTP larger files, 3-4mb or bigger, the HDD times out or something and the FTP fails.

I have a lot of music backed up on my ms soundtracks and I would like a FTP program that will automatically reconnect when disconected and have file resuming, so I can get those bigger files.

Any other ideas, like putting the HDD in my comp, would be good to hear.

Thanks. smile.gif

my one friend had this problem with a slow hdd. now it didn't fail ftp transfers, but it did load extremely slow in everything. guess what.......the hdd was so fragmented from turning on and off so much and just from being used for so long. i ftp'd all the stuff off and formated the partitions, and viola it ran perfect.

I can't believe that worked. blink.gif

1 hour = 10 min. Freeze it again, +10 more.

Thank you so much Syrus.

New problem...
My f:\ partition is just gone. Nothings showing up. Any Ideas on how to recover that?

BTW - CamdogXIII, if that works, I think I'll put it in my comp with a boot selector, and give ubuntu a try. happy.gif

Do you have access to a Linux machine?

You may be able to recover the lost partition, but it will be tough in 10 min intervals.
