Video Conversion
« on: December 06, 2006, 05:24:00 PM »

I'm trying to convert DVD's to ogm's/mp4's.

I use smart ripper to rip.
When I use vidomi, or autoGK, to convert .vob's to .avi's useing either divx or xvid, the audio is always super quiet. It's a big difference from the DVD playback. I believe I've been using AAC for the audio, but it could be MP3.

I don't know whats going on.

Any ideas?

You would have to check your decoders as well as encoders. The problem can lie in either of them. Try a different decoder and/or program (try vlc, mplayer, and media player classic) to play. If it is still too quiet it could be the encoder.

AAC or AC3 files are usually quiet and need a little boost. To boost, demux with virtualdub and then gain a bit with nero audio or something like that and then mux with virtualdub.
