This Is Strange, I Have A Huge Gap In Add/remove Programs
« on: June 20, 2006, 01:22:00 PM »

Like I said, when I go to add/remove programs in control panel the list looks normal until after the a's then there is a huge (I would say easily over 100) space of blank lines and then the list continues on normally.

XP pro by the way. I have tried restarting and restoring with no effect, this seems strange to me.

Here's a little visual aid.

Anyone seen this before?

It seems like a registry problem. If you cannot restore to an early enough date that doesn't have the problem, you need a program to fix the corruption for you. This usually happens when a program installs wrong. <--- not your fault.

There are a couple I just cannot remember the names.

Google for it. I will too, and if I find it I will update ya.

Edit: try this and let us know.

I have never used this program.

I've seen this with autocad installed... I had to deal with this before... I'll see if I can find the fix... it's real simple but since your list doesn't show autocad then I'm not sure...

Thank's guys. I'm glad I didn't reformat now.

throwingks link did the trick. I downloaded RemoveWhitespaceFromAddRemovePrograms.exe and fixed the problem in seconds.

And sp3cialk was on the money about the autocad. I have 2000i installed and it should have been listed in that space, I just never noticed it wasn't in the list.
