For an Nforce 4 chip, i would usually go with an DFI motherboard, but out of your options ASUS is normally better.

I got an Asus A8n-SLI Deluxe. I love this board.   It came with more shit then I can shake a stick at ( Including a nice set of usb's for my xbox  biggrin.gif ), The motherboard will talk to you, and you can change it. Kinda overkill Most def. but there is Somthing about customizing a key board error to your own liking for expample Mine Says "Check your fucking keyboard!"

Also it has Music on Boot they call it some other shit but basically if you ahve it enabled, start your ocmputer and an audio cd is in ther it will play while running it's post. I have only tested it to see if it worked, but some people might get good use out of it.

Overclocking on this beast is a breeze. I have an X2 3800+ @2.6 ghz with my mem at 2.5-3-3-6, I am workign on tightening the timig up but thats what it was at this morning.   I have had it at 2.75 (per core) but i dont have adequate cooling to keep it there. Some have reported problems with Overclocking on this board, however I have not.

Overall I would say this is my fav. Pc build i Have done.  I'm not saying not to get any other brand but at hte momment i am rather fan-boyish about the thing.   Now I have inded heard of people having issues with the fan mentioned above, but that jsut gives me more reason to put a bigger and better one on there once I get my x1800 and overclock it.  laugh.gif

I would say asus, but that;s all my opinion,

I have had such good experiences with Asus mobos that I use them exclusively now.  Very solid.
The one Gigabyte I had bit-it after a few days of slight overclocking.

ASUS is the only motherboard I use.  They have tons of features, very stable, easy overclocking, there is just nothing bad about them.  The prices are usually very good too (I get my stuff from www.newegg.com.)  I would highly recommend ASUS.

not to brag but this goes to credibility...I have built somewhere around 1000 PCs and have never had any problems with an ASUS.

A few Asus boards I used had some issues. Driver support was not up to par. I have a Gigbyte board ATM, and cant really say anything negative about it. Id probably buy another one.

My friend's ASUS flat out refused to see my Western Digital HD when I plugged it in.  Didn't work via USB in an external enclousure either!  Works perfectly in my PC though.

I know you just stated that you don't want an Asus, but have a gander at my board.

 \\Here's a review: http://www.pcper.com...=98&type=expert

8 Sata ports 2 IDE channels, that's 12 drives total all that you can configure in raid configs 1,0 and then also raid 5 with a bios update.  May not be a big deal but it means a lot to me, also 4 pci express and 3 pci slots.

I saw a real nice Giga the other day I will see if I cant come up with a link, however it appears you have already done a good deal of research in that area.

Also the new a8n32-sli is out there is a link on that page about it.

Good luck with your build  whatever your Board is.  BTW what proc. are you planning on using?

I will be useing a dual core Opterion chip... Yeah, Asus looks really cool and it's a hard decision but since I had so much good luck with my old Gigabyte I'll probably be conservative and stick with Gigabyte.
