Your Body Has... Network Capabilities?
« on: July 18, 2005, 12:24:00 PM »

QUOTE((AustralianIT.news.com.au))
IF you spend hours downloading songs to your iPod, the days of fiddling around with wires are coming to an end.

A Japanese company has discovered that the best cables may be your arms and legs.

According to NTT Laboratories, your whole body is the perfect conductor for electronic data, meaning that information such as music and films could be downloaded in seconds via your elbow.

Check the whole article HERE.

On a side note:

DAMN!!! this is crazy yall!

I'd most certainly be worried about somebody literally "Hacking my ass"... and taking advantage of me! LOL..

Or giving me some kind of elbow transmitable virus that no armpit antivirus or eye lid firewall can stop!

"Sir, I'm sorry to say, but your network can't be recovered, unless we replace your elbow with a much more innovative and conductive elbow, waddayathink??" rolleyes.gif

I remember hearing something about this ages ago, so I digged for a moment with the google shovel and found it.

definitely not new news...

a long time ago, I saw a Tech thing on tv... people designed a microchip with personal information on it, like the persons name, address, whatever else he wanted onto it, and then it was placed in his shoe.

The chip had a special power adapter that would run off of friction from walking around.

the guy then would touch some other type of chip or reciever with his hand, and it would transfer all the information from the chip from his shoe....

the thing actually worked... this is just like sticking a micro chip inside your pet in case it gets lost, the vet can retrieve the information by scanning some device over it...

crazy technology.

If you think about it, that might be the next Security feature for credit cards or banks. Just wave your hand over a pad or something and it will bill your account without ever needing to use a card, so you never have to worry about credit card theft (lol) and selfcheck outs would be hitting like crazy with something like this and would end up cutting jobs (mainly clerks of course) because people will be getting this installed (what a great term "installed" into us lol wow  <--- just noticed, World of Warcraft lmao) and eventually it might be put into all new borns to insure safe kids, and to insure that they're life is protected.

I don't know just putting it out there since technology is growing so fast with Dual-Core Processors coming out to the public, cures coming out everyday, weapons for military or goverment use (police etc). It's just amazing and scary, but the question is where will humans be in 20 years? still in control or not............?

Crazy stuff hope this sparks up something some kinda cool convo with people so post your opinion or other interesting technology here.
