Its You! Virus?
« on: April 14, 2005, 07:17:00 PM »

Ok i'm a dumass, lets get that out of the way. Ok. During a conversation, my friend send the message: "its you!" then "http://hydr0.net/[email protected]" He didn't type it, the program found at this site did it. Anyways, being the dumass that i am, i went to it and downloaded a small file thinking it was a picture of me or watever. Well it was a MS-DOS program and i ran it and now every once in a while, it opens up all contacts that are online, and types that message that my friend sent me. I look under Task Manager and it shows "Project1" on the list of applications running. I'm thinking if i go under processes while at the taskmanager and end the right one, i could stop it, but i don't know which one it is. Does anyone think they could help me out? Its really pissing me off. Thanks!

alot of times a virus that spreads through msn or e-mail's seem like it's your friend but never EVER dl anything unless you know it's actually your friend sending it and not a virus under your friends screen name.
You might want to get norton or mcafee since those usually clear it up.  You might even be able to go to norton's site and they may have a free tool you can dl to remove it or instructions on how to.
