I use the Ace Mega Codecs pack and wmp pretty much plays everything I need to play.
What features in norton utilities do you want?

videolan.org
Its a standalone player that has the codecs built in to the player. Can play I think anything

thanks on the divx players
as far as the utilities the things i used in norton was the cleansweep, disk doctor (i think that was the one, the one that corrects missing shortcuts and other small problems) and a good defrag

What version of windows are you using? If it is windows XP or 2k, MS uses a light version of
Diskeeper
(diskeeper is my favorite modern Defrag utility)
.
You actualy want a DiskDoctor like program? No offence intended but that was one of the buggiest utilities in Systemworks. Theoreticly it was suposed to fix system issues on the fly, in practice when ever a system with systemworks went to shit DiskDoctor was normaly the cause. Personaly I would recomend handeling issues as they crop up rather than using a program that tries to fix and diagnose things on it's own.
Offhand I don't know a cleansweep replacement, sorry.
