so after i build my computer, i would install it like the Windows XP guides say? How would i upgrade it once windows 64 comes out? This sounds like a much better deal.

Im not sure about the re-design. I don't really know that much about computers, so i have to go off other peoples opinions... I think i would like to stick with the Ultra. My updated plan is what i intend to go with, its actually $1600, but thats ok, ive been waiting so long, i can deal with an extra $100.

Processor: AMD Athalon 64 3500+, 929 Socket             $170
Cooling: Included in case                     $0
Motherboard: DFI nVIDIA nForce4 SLI chipset motherboard      $225
Memory: Kingston HyperX 1GB(512MBx2) DDR PC-3200      $200
Case: ASUS Vento 3600 Blue ATX Mid Tower Case         $140
Power Supply: Athena Power 550W EPS12V Power Supply      $84
Hard Drive 1: WD Raptor 74GB                  $180
Hard Drive 2: WD Baracuda 200GB SATA HDD            $112
DVD/CD Drive: NEC 16X Double Layer DVD RW Drive, w/ Software   $62
VideoCard: eVGA nVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra             $425
Speakers: Logitech X-530 5.1 Black Speaker System         $52*
Audio: Audigy2 ZS OEM                     $65*
Floppy: Mitsumi Floppy and Card Reader **not truly needed      $35*
OS: Windows XP Professional x64
Complete dual HDD(without extras*)               $1598

This would be dual HDDs. My only question is: Would it be hard if i used one HDD for a  year, and then decided to go dual hdds, and transfered stuff over to lets say a Raptor? I would be under if i whent without the raptor.

sorry, I know this is a triple post, but I entered all my components into a newegg wish list, and I learned two things, first, that I miscalculated, and my processor is $270, so my total is $1700 not $1600, second im not sure my DVD burner is compatible. It says "Interface: ATAPI / E-IDE". So if it isn't compatible, I need help choosing an SATA compatible DVD Burner. I am just going to go with one for monetary reasons.

Because my total is 1700 not 1600, im not going to go with dual HDs, and am instead going to buy just one SATA HDD, maybe buy a raptor in the future, and transfer the programs over(wondering if this is hard).

My newegg wishlist total was $1,458, with a WD 200GB SATA HDD
