I had a Thopson drive in my Xbox an I replaced it with a SD-616T drive that I just accidentially found on my local computer deassembly / recycling center. Flashed it with a SDG-605 firmware, and then realized it wont read any DVD+R discs.
Then I searhed this forum and around the net, and saw that it's not a bad drive or something like that, but an issue with the drives' firmware (605) not recodnizing these discs.
So, I found this topic on another forum
LINK and thought that would it be possible to do such a thing with 605 firmware? (the last reply in that, just replace the last step where he installs F105 fw to 605 fw). Anyone tried something like this? Or is there a modified 605 firmware somewhere where DVD+R:s are made a regodnizable media?
I know I can burn dvd+r with a bitsetting of dvd-rom, but that does not help with the huge pile of dvd+r discs that I have allready burned in the past.
I mainly use my Xbox with XBMC, so I have many dvd+r's loaded with dvdrips.
Sorry for this post if this question has been answered before, but the search what I did didn't answer this throughly enough for me. (many replys was that use dvd-rom bitsetting).
Thanks for any relpy, hope I can get some better info
Ofcourse I can allways go back to Thopson & streaming the stuff that it doesn't read over the lan and put this 616 to the pile.
