so you can see the wireless settings and config security, ssid from the MS dash
the router status page shows the mac and IP of conected devices (turn off mac filtering if on)
not sure what kind of problem your discribing, i use two mn-740 without problems

I power cycled both my modem and my router, I had mac filtering and firewall off.  I reinserted the WEP key into the xbox and then I was able to connect to Live.   I think it was power cycling the modem and/or router.  

I put the the mac filtering back on as well as the firewall and it still works!
