Looking For A Dual Layer Firmware Update

I was reserching with google and i found that you could update your dvd burners firmaware to make it DL, but i only foud the firmware for NEC drives. Is there an upgrade for us generic folks.

You need to flash with your burner's manufacture's created firmware. No not all burners can be upgraded to support dual layer, but some can.

edit: I negleted to explain why, firmware is specific to the chipset and hardware used for a specific device. Think of it like a operating system to teach a device to behave like that device.
