Here Whats Goin Down...

Thats crazy 67thraptorbull.  I got an XFX 6800GT and it wont overclock at all.  Always overheats.  I even pulled the heatsink off, replaced all the compound with arctic silver 7, and have good cooling throughout my pc.

Also, everyone has their favorite mobos.  I can't say that Asus isn't good, because they had some amazing boards with the Socket A platform, but with the new 64bit processors, I dont like them.  Our school got about 50 of them to build new comps with, and I hate them.  Also, if you want PCI-X, you'll have to do nForce 4 chipset, cuz Via doesn't have one with PCI-X support yet.

I have the pci express version of the verto 6600 gt. you will not be disspontiated.  I have another rig with a 6800 gt and I can't tell a difference unless i benchmark it. go with the 6600 gt my friend.

its cheapr to get a mobo with good integrated sound than to buy a seperate expensive audio card.... almost all top of the line mobos ($200-$250) have it.... so its cheaper that way, and its one less physical part.

you can still upgrade and get a sound card if you have integrated....

and all of these have good integrated sound
8 channel sound, gigabyte

8 channel, chaintech

8-channel, asus

8-channel, gigabyte

All of those are good mobos, the two more expensive ones even have SLI so you could run two video cards for better performance (two 6600's in SLI are faster than a single 6800)

EDIT: remember that the motherboard, and too a lesser extent the processor will determine how much you will be able to upgrade your computer later on... thats why you should go with 939, its newer and the motherboards have more new features and will be better for upgrading....

yeah i know but you cant upgrade whats on the board or sell it to help pay for the new card and the only company that i see that really has a good rep is the asus wink.gif

Do you think there is a chance that you will upgrade the CPU in the future without upgrading the board?

Then go for the 939.  If your budget is tight, it won't really hurt you to get the 754.
