Okay... a lot of mistakes there (but we've all made them)

1) Newegg.com is your friend. Use it. Much cheaper and better than compusa (they may be a website, but dont be worried about fraud. They kick ass, and im sure many people here will second that)

2) that motherboard doesn't support that videocard (which is cheaper at newegg.com). The motherboard has an agp slot, no pci express.
3) spending way too much on drives, once again newegg.com
4) didn't say what your budget is. We can help maximize what you get for your money. remember, windows xp home is about $100.. and expect to pay atleast another $100 (may find some weird deal) if you want MS office (word, excel, publisher, etc...)

maybe someone here will be nice enough to repick a bunch of parts for you at newegg.... maybe i will... but not now...

Choose your RAM carefully. AMD64 is picky about ram because the memory controller is in the CPU. OCZ is great, Mushkin is too, but check compatibility.

The DVD burner will burn CD's as well.  You're better off going with a DVD-ROM and a DVD burner so you can copy CD to CD and DVD to DVD.

Watch out with ram on the MSI K8N Neo board.  That particular S754 board doesn't like the cheapes Mushkin ram you can buy for sure.  We tried tons of different voltage settings etc. and could not get the computer to run stable with it.  I ended up getting PDP memory, which is amazing memory for the price.

Seriously give us a price and I'll configure you a comp.  Doesn't take long at all.

Here's a config I did for someone else.

Antec Case with 350watt PSU
nForce 4 Mobo With PCI-X, SATA2, RAID, Gigabit Ethernet, Onboard 7.1 Sound
AMD Athlon64 3200+ Processor
1024mb PDP Memory in Dual Channel
GeForce 6600GT PCI-X 128mb G-Card
Western Digital SATA 80gb HDD
Lite-On 16x Dual Layer DVD Drive
Lite-On DVD Combo Drive
Samsung Floppy Drive

I would build that specific system for $1050.  That includes a professionaly set-up and installed system with a 128mb Pen Drive containing all Drivers needed for your system and links to sites with updated drivers for when formatting.

If you want something different PM me or something...I'd love to help.

An MSI K8N Neo2 Plat mobo and an AMD Athlon64 3200+ processor from newegg is about $375.  The MSI boards have never been overpriced like some boards I know (Gigabyte, ASUS)*cough*

I have the pci express version of the verto 6600 gt. you will not be disspontiated.  I have another rig with a 6800 gt and I can't tell a difference unless i benchmark it. go with the 6600 gt my friend.
