Thanks Arvarden. I missed the part where they handed out the theropods, I breezed right through the door without getting them. I'm back on track, thanks again.

Actually I have a custom built PC...that doesn't mean I use it to play crappy games like HL2, though.

That being said, I may demo HL2 if the opportunity presents itself.  Just to see how badly it runs on my outdated Radeon 8500.

Just to throught my info out there,

I'm running HL2 on an XP 2600+, 512MB DDR2100 and and a GeForce3 Ti500.

Running the game at 1024x768 and it runs just fine, granted I my not be getting all the   bells and wistles, but it still looks damn good, and I'm loving it.

Hmm...one of my drivers for something must be not up to date....

Wait, 85 fps where? From the CS: Source video test? Or like...maxed out...Maxed out I've reached at least over 100 but for the CS: Source on all maxed out I'm not getting very high marks...

$150 for an Xbox leaves me with $2850 for whatevever else, decent car, big screen tv, coke party, whatever.

LOL, so true.  When his $3,000 rig is worthless...  I'll still be playing whatever the current console is on my 42" plasma set.  I kept my old TV close to 10 years, I expect to keep my current one just as long.  Some things just provide a better lasting value.   biggrin.gif

The other thing I spent some megabucks on recently was a Canon Digital Rebel.  Holy mother of fuck, it's a nice camera.  Sure, I could have bought some serious upgrades for my Athlon XP2000, I even priced out a new Athlon64 system on newegg.  But I can't justify the expense of upgrading a computer that's perfectly fine for everything I use it for except the latest games.

I realize the console vs PC thing has been done to death, but things really are at a point where a shitty gaming rig can still be a perfectly usable computer.  Upgrades used to give me a massive performence boost.  As it is, my XP2000 tears through Photoshop and audio editing tasks.  Eventually I'll upgrade my rig - but not just to play a $50 video game.

yeh your right with your comments, some people do spend a lot of money on upgrades just to play the latest games... im one of them  biggrin.gif but im on a excellent salary so can afford pc upgrades, car, home improvements and a decent social life so its all down to what you can afford. Sure spending all that money doesnt justify for a game worth £40 or whatever but im loaded!  laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif
