Make Doom3 Run Smoother

dunno if it's just me, but I noticed this trick beefed up my DOOM3 performance by a lot.

Anyhoo:

In your DOOM 3 directory, find "DoomConfig.cfg" (x:\Program Files\Doom 3\base). Open DoomConfig.cfg in Notepad.

Find the line:

seta image_cacheMegs "20"

I changed 20 to 200. (aka half of 512ram)

I got a nice boost in performance.

I see these lines:

So it still helps to up the cache if 'Use Cache' is set to NO (0)?

yea .. Try it yourself do only half your ram and check it out.. works like a charm

actually, i said it like that because i dont have doom yet, and my pc isnt built yet

If you have a ATI card you can also download a early version of catalyst 4.9. This download was made to increase the performance of your card  in Doom 3
