i built my system for 1k one and a half years ago.

2.4b
512pc2700
r9500pro

runs ut2k4 fine, runs ALL games fine

med-high settings

and it doesnt look like shit either

now that i think about it, as long as you spend about 1k-1.5k on your comp, it'lll last for 2-3 years! without upgrading!

mobo for 4-5 or so?

i'm planning on getting a 3.06HT cpu so i can use my comp while i do stuff like encode video files

Where do you 14-year olds get the money for tehse comps?  From parents?

My parents would never buy me anything computer-related.

Im 15 and I have some budget Emachines that i got for $300

1.2  ghz
128mb ram (upgraded to 356)
20gb hdd
shitty built in videocard

anyway, the topic starter needs to come back and clear up the confusion and prove that im right.

Its called saving up, when I was 14 I saved up $400 and split the cost with my parents.
