heres the update

I downloaded that program suggested by powercntrl (thanks), but I only had Abode and my Anti virus running.

When i try to install IE6 it connects to internet to download IE 6 web browser.
Then software does not pass windows logo testing. and then a box comes up setup was unable to install ......  please try again.

I accept im going to have to format my drive unless this pretty poor info has given anyone an idea.

edit: I was using IE with the google toolbar and it wa easy to use although i like mozila's favourites.
