because it is for a laptop, you arent going to get any thrilling power out of it anyway, so just get whatever is cheapest

well since its a laptop, im assuming gaming is minimal. i'd go for a p4.  i find they're better with multi-tasking and office applications. i have never tried the athlon64's however, but they're probably more expensive than the p4 anyways.

powernotebooks.com is supposed to have very good laptop prices, check it out. Also check out centrino, it looks like a good way to go. check this if you want to learn about centrino http://www.powernote...om/centrino.php

I'd also reccomend the Pentium M (the Centrino's processor).  I haven't used it, but have heard wonderful things about it.
