Kazaa Lite Resurrection
« on: April 14, 2004, 05:16:00 AM »

Very few people seem to know, but the K++ version of Kazaa (the enhancement for the spyware-free Kazaa Lite) is still in development.  It's called Kazaa Lite Resurrection, and it's build from the new Kazaa core, so it can connect to the supernodes the old K++ (2.4.3) has been shut out from.  Other than that, it's supposedly exactly the same as K++, with updated version of IPBlocker, AVIPreview, and most of the other tools.  The problem is, it's hard to download.  The main page for KLR is a 404 now, after being featured on techtv in late March.

Has anyone else heard of KLR, or know where/how to obtain a copy?

EDIT: I found it thanks to help from lebriznon, I uploaded it to my site here.  (If this isn't allowed here for some reason, I will remove it.)

You're wrong.  Not only is Piolet full of spyware, it doesn't even have enough users for fast downloads.

hahahaha, nemt kazaa lite sucks

had it on my comp for 2 days, and had over 500 spy and adware programs, and shitloads of popups even when i wasnt on the internet

as soon as i took it off, no more spyware or adware and no more pop ups

the only spyware and adware free one ive found so far is Asus (or something like that) and it downloads 5 times faster then ne kazaa

so kazaa, kazaa lite and kazaa lite ++ can all suck my dick and die

67thRaptorBull: What are you talking about?  The whole point of kazaa lite is to have spyware free p2p sharing on the fastrack network, if you had spyware, it's because you downloaded the wrong thing.  I doubt you've ever even used Kazaa Lite K++, you probably had Kazaa Media Desktop.  K++ has no spyware or adware.

lebriznon: Thanks for the link, I looked on google for about twenty minutes and couldn't come up with anything, what did you search for?  I stopped looking after one of the pages I looked at had some DSO exploit installations running.

no nemt, i was using Kazaa Lite++, because before my comp crashed i had the original Kazaa Lite (which didnt have as much spyware), but i searched for 2 hours for a free download of Kazaa Lite and couldnt find it, so i found a download for Kazaa Lite++, installed it, downloaded 2 songs and walked away
i came back 2 hours later and had 13 pop ups of adware, and when i did a spyware detection it had over 500 hits

so i uninstalled it, cleaned the hdd, and instal Ares, did a spyware check and had 0 hits, and ive only got one pop up from it so far

so yes, kazaa lite++ has spyware

Dude, maybe I'm just using an antique version of Kazaa lite. (I save all D/Led installs on a seperate partition to make reformatting my C drive easier). But I have only once had a spyware issue on this computer. And that was with my little sister playing some online game that required some wonderful spyware to be downloaded as well. It became as issue since I wasn't smart enough to start up into safe mode to get it off and I wondered why it kep coming back. dry.gif

It's pretty sad when my relatively computer illiterate friend pointed out to me my error after listening to me says I've gotten rid of the stuff 3 times only for it to come back.  rolleyes.gif
