I think you should go for a 128 mb 9600 XT, its just a little more and IMO better.

Or you could get a 9800 pro (best card for its money) for around $210 on newegg.

well, first off
besides the video card, does the memory, mobo and cpu look like a good match?

now, the video card is what i was gonna leave room for price wise, as i know its important to have a good one
i just thought that 256mb would be better then 128mb?
if not, then what one should i get?

9800 pro is best bang for you buck

on newegg for about 209 bux

way more powerful than the 9600 xt

EDIT: ok back to subject, that is one of the better athlon 64 mobos so good choice there, you wotn be able to take advantage of the 64 bit until longhorn is released which will fully support 64 bit

and for the ram, DO NOT get a single 1 gig stick, your mobo supports dual channel ram, so get 2 sticks of 512(PC 2700 on dual channel mode will pretty much max out yoru performance, faster ram speeds will hardly help), which will be cheaper, especially online, and that ram on ebay already costs more than what i can find at Fry's

as far as the choice of mobo goes, check out the MSI K8T Neo- it has Cool & Quiet technology, its a really cool feature of AMD64 chips and lets the mobo under or overclock the cpu depending on the system load- that'd be my choice rolleyes.gif

ram; more ram = bigger cock = better

Well pricewatch has it's own feedback system for sellers, so check that first.

www.resellerratings.com is a feedback site for sellers, and also a price comparison thing as well.

CPU & mobo are fine (same as what I have in my system.

Graphics card  - go for a 9800 pro  far better than a 9600 (any flavour)

as for memory  -  look into purchasing PC3200 rather than 2700 it will run with your system better, pick a matched pair of 512MB sticks to give you a gig of ram (2 gig is overkill and you won't see ant benefit, unless you are doing heavy cad or ray tracing work)

ie. Corsair 1GB DDR XMS3200LL Pro TwinX (2x512MB) CAS2 £172 ex vat (about $300) expensive, but worth it
