Gens has some problems related to specific PC hardware and software problems in corrupted systems.

On a fresh install of windows it should run smoothly, but if you've gone a year or so, it'll freeze up, or such has been my experience.

Gens is still my favorite sega emulator, though.

If you have no luck with Gens try Kega although the software revision is much lower it's not as far behind Gens as it would appear.
