Will This Work?
« on: March 15, 2004, 12:40:00 PM »

ok i already have a cable modem attached to my pc, throguh my ethernet card.

i want to share this connection with my other pc which is about 20 ft away in the other room.

will this list of stuff work?

cable #1 -
http://www.newegg.co...-146-003&depa=0

hub -
http://www.newegg.co...-175-001&depa=0

cable #2 -
http://www.newegg.co...-117-127&depa=0

ethernet card -
http://www.newegg.co...-180-004&depa=0

am i correct in thinking that the wire from the modem goes into one of the ports on the hub, then i just connect my pc's to the other ports?

tell me if this will be ok or what else i need.

thanx

a hub WILL work, a router will split the connection not share it.

so that means on a 512kbps connection , each computer will think it has a 256kbps?

and with a hub both will have 512kbps but each pc gets more bandwith when it needs it?
