Frozen CPU

Hey, I just ordered a Zalman ZM80C-HP Video Card Cooler with the Fan.  Anyone else have any experiences with it?  It looks great for my GeForce FX 5700 (The default heatsinks suck ass, mine's already generating more heat than my overclocked P4!)

No, there's no way to tell.  If I put my hand under the card, there is ALOT of heat, whereas my CPU is only 27C after playing a game.

i had that and promptly gave it away.

install it per thier instructions and it warped my vid card enough so that it wouldnt fit in the agp slot.

had to remove the factory sink(duh) but the factory one covered the ram chips as well and that giant blocked them so i couldnt put new sinks on.

heavy too....didnt like the thought of that being held in with one screw.

i personally dont like it and its only good if you want a truly silent machine. not good for overclocking or even normal harcore sessions.

just my 2cp.

go find someone that has a bad MSI FX card and take the double heatsink and fan sandwich off that, it's sick.  My OC'ed 5900 stays nice and cold.

I don't have heatsinks on my video ram, but the default heatsink for these cards (mines an MSI) suck ass.  it's a thin piece of aluminum with a fan ontop of it!  WTF, how the hell is that gonna cool anything!?
Edit: In the pic on FrozenCPU's site, I think that's a 5700 in the pic.

Also, shadowarachh, did it come with instructions?  I'm not sure how much thermal compound to put on everything.

you want to put as thin a layer as possible and make sure to keep an even surface. use a credit card or ruler for that.
