Portable Vnc Server Being Used As A
« on: March 04, 2004, 02:28:00 PM »

its been so nice outside the last few days i just wanted to surf the net outside dont ask me why i just did but i only own a desktop and have a beast of desktop being built but no labtop so i had a idea, what about gutting a labtop and getting one of these mini-itx and putting it in its case with a wireless network card would it be possible to have a portable desktop with the aid of vnc?

is there a vnc program that lets me take FULL control over a computer including alt+ctrl+del?

Each version of VNC I have used alternitive to send a CTRL-ALT-DEL (diffrent key combo or menu option).

A few problems come from gutting a laptop, laptops are still full propritary hardware. That the screen has to be compadible or modifiable to accept the input from a standard vga video,  a power source, and input devices.

It sounds fun for access to the pc, but keep in mind, remote desktoping soft normaly will not support 3d games and some media streaming.

SHIT! first is there a fix for the screen out yet??? second is there a way to hard remote desktop with something similar to vnc???

if not it just sounds alot simpler to keep the labtop guts.

but still shit! i wanted the ability to upgrade this thing to full fledged labtop later but most labtops are just to expensive or slow for my needs mini-itx looked like the answer

id stilll like to do this! is there a simple fix for the screen???
