Ok, I softmodded my xbox, but I want to update my eeprom. I want to change it from Pal region 4 to NTSC region 1. Now I tried configamagic, but it fails with updating my old eeprom. Whenever I change something and I update it, it fails when i choose option 1 to load my xbox eeprom (which is necessary, because I have to lock the drive again).

How can I change my EEPROM, Im running out of ideas.

oh, I used the UXE complete softmod (with the nkpatcher). I tried running pbl metoo to bypass the eeprom protection from nkpatcher, that didnt work. Downgrading to nkpatcher 8.1 gave me error 21. I hear of some people who are saying that it doesnt matter if it is getting written to the virtual or real eeprom. Anyway, I cant write to the real eeprom, and my virtual eeprom doesnt remember the new ntsc settings.

that will work, but if the eeprom.bin (the one that NKPatcher uses) is not changed or deleted it will use it instead of the real eeprom

The thing with pbl metoo is that I dont know how to use it. I just tried running it from evox, but then my xbox was not responding. And where do I need to delete eeprom.bin? I softmodded a lot of xboxes, but now im actually forced to understand what im doing and it can be quite confusing at times (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Have you thoguht you using a eeprom programmer (search ebay) , it will read and write the eeprom to/from the motherboard.  you can use xboxhdm, once you got the eeprom.

nah I fixed it already. I downloaded ndure's installer (kingroach, so i could use it with xboxhdm). Since I had my eeprom, hotswapping was even easier. I just did a clean install (formatted the drives), after that the EEPROM_off.bin and ShadowC_off.bin trick worked.

I only had to reinstall the shadowdrive (via ftp) to fix the c drive, which was unwritable. But apparantly that is a known problem since you can find the sollution in the kingroach guide.

Anyway, if anyone ever has this problem again, just advice them to do a clean install with ndure and forget about uxe or any other old package.
