The I'd search the drive for the  MXtask and rename it . Look for what fails then.

When you look at your partition table <rightclick my computer and select manage - click disk management>, does to show the same setup. It may have reassigned the label to a diffrent letter. <Sometimes happens during a reinstall> You can change the lettering is you like.

All the data is gone. I have already searched for mxtask.. It is Ontrack Suite.. Its my virus scan/firewall/everything kinda like Norton except I like it.. I'm trying to figure out what to do. I'm thinking that I am going to exclude mxtask from being effected by spybot. That should work.

I'm thinking its virus.

Reasons:
-Internet randomly turns off
-When MXtask is shut down Internet works
-When I restarted a shit load of stuff started loading
- Now most of my shortcuts load to a dos prompt window and dont load..

any thoughts?

At this point, I would back up all data that you have not previously backed up. Then do a clean format and install and update. Install your av scaner and update, then install and restore your apps and files.

That all depends on what applications you install and what you do with your pc.
The clean install normaly means one of two things. Your security may have been copmrmised and to be safe you clean install <not the case here>. The errors that have been inflicted on the pc are eather to annoying/difficult to repair <registry corruption, extreme application error (this case), etc.> or a technition eather wishes to remove any unknown factors from a unstable system.

I think I'm going to back everything up, and if I still have major problems I am going to reformat.. I want to avoid that If I can because it takes forever to install everything again.

Now my only issue is the start up. Why does it want me to type in a password before I get to the welcome screen.

BTW I like your sig.

What does the password screen look like and does it occur after windows boots or during or after user is selected.

Windows starts up with its loading black screen (winxp) then it goes to the blue screen with darker blue bars on top and bottom. It says: windows is starting up, so I alt-tab over and I get: logon message: Windows could not log you on make sure you name... blah blah blah. I press OK then I get to the normal log-on screen and have to click on my name to enter. I have never had to do this.

I am having big time issues with my programs. I am going to have to re-format eventually.. Hopefully I can get it done tomorrow.

You can redo the logon with eather the Windows XP tweak UI from http://www.micros oft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp or through some registry uglyness.
