802.11b Usb Adaptor
« on: January 13, 2004, 07:07:00 PM »

heres the setup: i got the router upstairs, connected by a wire to a pc.  in the room right next to it, i have a laptop using a 802.11b d-link pcmcia card. no problems there either. works great.
Downstairs i have another pc using a USB d-link 802.11b adaptor....it works great too...for 2 minutes. then it disconnects, any downloads currently running freeze, any online games i may be play will drop me, etc.  takes about 30 seconds and the little "connection establlished" icon reappears and everythings back to normal.
when it DOES connect, its a strong signal.

so does this mean my adaptor is just crappy?  a USB problem perhaps? or am i too far away?
i mean i bought all d-link components that are supposed to work well together, and support 22Mbps...well it does...cept this disconnect issue is a real pain...

any ideas?
