What Video Card Should I Get?
« Reply #30 on: January 13, 2004, 09:55:00 AM »

im not sure about it but i believe the CEO back then sold out to Nvidia, which folded the company.  Take a look at this: http://www.macgamer....ws/ray/ray.html

i miss those days... when i was showing off to everyone how i had the most power 3d card (voodoo 2 at that time and how pissed i got after a buddy bought a riva tnt 16mb and kept saying it was faster.... my excuse was that only 3dfx supported 3dfxGL and DirectShow... Who knows what woulda happened if they would still be here today.)

I just purchased a GeForceFX 5900 and it hangs with the 9800 Pro just fine.  It's not any louder than my ti4200 either.

got my card in the mail the other day (9700 pro)...........  goddamn it kicks ass... playing unreal 2 at 1280x1024 w/every detail level maxed out and 4XAA @ 45FPS.  i almost ****** myself.

ahah now... what tool should i get to overclock it?  biggrin.gif

i recommend RivaTuner, i used that to clock my 9700pro up to 9800pro speeds, you can get your unworthy hands on a copy here.
