What Video Card Should I Get?

DermicSavage- the problem was not with the video card hardware, it was that it was not very compatable with several different chipsets, and now most of the problems are fixed, but yes i did have the same problem with the latest driver/software without overclocking (i even tried underclocking it)

well pricewatch has them for about 182 bucks  9600xt 256m  well id say thats a nice card because of the extra ram but hhmm if this was me man id have to rethink my purchase and save some more cash and go for the big boy and just spend the 433 dollars on the 9800XT 256meg.

does the 9600xt come with the free half life 2 coupon ?  i know the 9800xt does.

if you dont want to wait man seriously think about getting a 9700 pro  its only 128 meg but you wont be disappointed.

im sure compared to your current card the 9600will truly be a godsend and allow to to play all the newest games but it still does make up for the fact that its a mid level card.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY THAT CARD!!!!
http://www17.tomshar...n9600xt-07.html

this WILL change your mind dude.!! the 9700 has almost 2x's the performance as the 9600xt and is only about 20 bucks more. and most stuff the 9500 beats the 9600 and is 100 dollars cheaper!

look at the  gaming benchmarks in that review omfg the 9700 pro either beats or is equal to the nvidia 5900 ultra  is that sad or what!

and if you look here
http://www17.tomshar...38-nv36-41.html

you'll see a nice comparison of the nvidia 5950 ultra piece of crap compared to the godlike ati cards

again more support for the 9700 pro 9800 pro 9800 pro 256 meg or  9800 XT

i had a rare chance at a lan to compare my radeon 9800 pro 128 meg and my friend's Geforce FX 5950, and after about 5 hours fo testing my card averaged the same speeds as the 5950

another 3 hours of argument and he returned the card and bought a 9800 xt

mwahah!

i smoked a guy wid a 9800pro, see my 9700pro (yes, stock cooling, but that massive brass thing from Gigabyte) is clocked at 385/345... so its slightly faster

and yes i did outdo a 5900 b4, the guy was cryin cuz he tried to o/c the card and ended up damaging his pipelines, think again before you try and overclock the flaming 5900u...

ooooo i am the man with the voodoo 9700! fear my mystical clocking powers!

voodoo ? yeah you were smoking something alright.  j/k

and that cpu fan and heat sink i was ready to do that to my card but i didnt have enough room between my agp card and the next pci card i had, just not enough room.
i could take a heat sink to work and have them cut it down... hhmm  sounds like a plan.

how did you hook it to the card,, show us a picture with that card turned over shoing the heat sink fully attached so that we know its real and you didnt just sit the sink ontop the vpu and take a picture trying to show off.

i never said it was mine, and the guy seems to have holes thru the fins to fit the mounting sockets.

and yes, voodoo as in mystical effects not as in 3dfx.
