Adobe Help

I have adobe photoshop 7.0 (Retail) and I was messing around with it, and I kinda screwed it over.  It thinks the mask mode is on all the time.  When I open any .bmp it does this thing when I go to add text, where it highlights the picture Red and when Im done typing, it has the words I typed selected... Ive tried to delete it then reinstall it, but the settings are the same still.  I tried to delete my registry for adobe, and delete the "Common" files.  Does anyone know where this setting file is stored so I can get rid of it?
